The first international location for the iconic department store, Bloomingdale’s Dubai is inspired by the brand’s Manhattan and San Francisco flagships—incorporating signature elements such the black-and-white checkerboard floors and hand-blown glass chandeliers. The design also pays homage to the region, using subtle Arabic influences such as the mashrabiya (decorative screens) found in women’s shoes as highlights. Overall, detailing throughout the store is clean and simple, with a focus on finishes and furniture, rather than fixtures, that ensures a warm and residential feel.
