Callison Designs Eye Park, A Sustainable High-Rise Tower Park in Dubai

Four million sf mixed-use development addresses Dubai’s strategic sustainability plan

October 16, 2008 - As part of Dubai’s long-term plan to create a tourist, entertainment and leisure destination, Tameer Holding Investments has selected Callison to design and lead the development of six sustainable mixed-use towers in the Arjan community, located in the heart of Dubailand, the country’s three billion square-foot themed city.

The first phase of the towers, collectively known as Eye Park, will be designed to U.S. LEED standards and will total approximately two million square feet, approximately 1.9 million sf of residential and 100,000 sf of retail. Each tower will be complemented with full amenities, ample parking and a shopping gallery within each development. A second phase of the towers will contain an additional two million square feet of residential.

As one of the first sustainable multi-tower residential developments in Dubai, the towers will feature the latest in sustainable technology including energy efficient geothermal and solar heating and cooling systems and low flow water systems. The project is targeted for U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver certification and will provide onsite renewable energy, solar heated water and innovative grey water technology designed to enable a 30 percent reduction in potable water usage. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2011.

“Tameer is pleased to announce this significant partnership with Callison for our premium projects in Arjan,” Mr. Ghassan Sakhnini, CEO of Tameer said. “We are confident that the highest caliber of quality and style will be reflected in the design of these projects in true Callison-renowned fashion.”
