Landmark Shopping Center The MIXc Opens in China Resort City

May 11, 2010 - The MIXc opened to great fanfare in the Qianjiang new central business district of the resort city of Hangzhou on 22 April. Callison joined clients China Resources and Sun Hung Kai Properties in the public celebration, which included a performance by China’s Winter Olympic stars Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo.

Callison provided master planning and architecture design for the landmark mixed-use development which includes 520,132 sm of retail, office, residential and a Park Hyatt hotel. The second MIXc in China, the new project is strategically located in one of the country’s most affluent cities. Representing a new scale and quality which sets a benchmark for retail center development in the market, The MIXc includes a world-class ice rink, a high-end supermarket and the first IMAX cinema in Hangzhou.

The three luxury residential towers – MIXc Residences – consist of more than 600 units which have been selling well since August 2008. Anchored by a nine-level retail podium with high-end restaurants and a rooftop park, The MIXc shopping center currently has an occupancy rate of 80 percent.

The Hangzhou MIXc was named the Most Valuable Commercial Property in China at the China Commercial Real Estate Annual Summit.
