Callison's New Design Concepts Sparkle

New design concepts in progress for Hamilton Jewelers, Mappin & Webb and Watches of Switzerland

July 12, 2010 - International architecture and design firm Callison announces a new project for the brand evolution of Hamilton Jewelers, a new concept for Mappin & Webb and continued project work with existing client Watches of Switzerland.

Hamilton Jewelers has commissioned Callison to reinterpret its brand presentation through a new store concept. Unlike traditional jewelry stores, the new design focuses on creating a residential environment based on merchandising concepts rather than a singular, open space. The store, designed to be luxurious while at the same time approachable, is meant to evoke Hamilton’s renowned service while creating a new paradigm for the customer experience. The first store which is 4,000 square feet will open in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in late 2010.

Callison’s new concept work for Mappin & Webb, created in conjunction with the Aurum Management team (parent company to both Watches of Switzerland and Mappin & Webb), will feature a residential environment blending an updated, classic sensibility with contemporary moments to create an expression completely unique and on point for this retailer. As silversmith to Her Majesty the Queen of England, Mappin & Webb’s new store features luxurious materials including polished walnut, raked limestone, custom styled resins and hand-painted wall coverings. The design will launch mid-2011 in Manchester with an additional store to follow in Cambridge.

Callison also recently completed a renovation for Cartier at the Americana Manhasset, New York as well as award-winning work for London Jewelers, also at the Americana.
