Global Leader in Retail Design Celebrates Two New Retail Centers Opening in China

July 29, 2010 - Callison, a global leader in retail and mixed-use design, celebrates two new retail shopping centers opening in China. Yueda 889 in Shanghai and The MIXc in Hangzhou – the first completed projects on a slate of ongoing projects for Callison’s Shanghai office – recently celebrated grand opening ceremonies. Both centers are 100 percent leased.

Yueda 889 is located in Jingan District, one of Shanghai’s most important economic regions. The mixed-use community hub features a transparent glass canopy connecting a four-level shopping center and a grand open-air civic plaza with an iconic high-rise office tower. The center, developed by the Yueda Real Estate Development Company in Shanghai, celebrated its grand opening on May 28, 2010.

The MIXc opened in the Qianjiang new central business district of the resort city of Hangzhou earlier this year. Developed in partnership by two of China’s leading developers, China Resources and Sun Hung Kai Properties, The MIXc is the new retail, mixed-use hub for the district. Callison provided master planning and architecture design for the landmark, mixed-use development which includes 520,132 sm of retail, office, residential and a Park Hyatt hotel, as well as architecture and interior design for the shopping center housing top international brands, a state-of-the-art ice rink and multiplex cinemas.
