UW Medicine Neighborhood Clinics – Ravenna
New type of clinic merges patient needs with highest level of team communication.
CallisonRTKL designed a new style of clinic that creates an on-stage/off-stage environment for the care team. Patients and families are provided with a seamless on-stage experience crafted to limit their exposure to the back-of-house clinical work zone. The care team zone is focused on direct team communications and providing the team with all their support needs within a concise zone. LEAN process improvement contributes to this change in style of work. Each care team is allocated five exam rooms. Each team consists of five team members. This allows each team member to work to their highest credentialed level, resulting in increased efficiency and clinical throughput. The resulting clinic design receives high satisfaction scores from patients, families and care team members.
